Science Classwork : Excretory
System Lab You will create a
model that illustrates all structures of the Excretory System that we have
learned about. Your model needs to
include: A description of how
the system works and what the function of each structure is. |

This week we will be learning about the Excretory System. This covers
standard SC.6.6.14.5:
Identify and investigate the general functions of the major systems of the
human body (digestive, respiratory, circulatory, reproductive, excretory,
immune, nervous, and musculoskeletal) and describe ways these systems interact
with each other to maintain homeostasis.
We will continue to
use strategies we have used throughout the year: RACE, and highlighting and
annotating text as we read and take notes. |

Homework for 3/30-4/3
Continuing our classification learning in this assignment you will be doing a LAB where you will classify the images based on observable traits. Similar to our shoe classification LAB we conducted in class. Once you have completed your observations and designated a classification system and made your chart with illustrations and created a key for the traits used, you will answer the essential question for this lab: How can observable physical traits be used to classify organisms and infer relatedness? See attached file for instructions and images. Get creative!! Can't wait to see what you come up with! Students will send digitally via HW website. ELL students can use: https://www.wordreference.com/es/translation.asp
|
||||||
Science Achieve3000, remember you need to search for them by name:
Are White Whales Coming Back? You will be required to copy and paste the answer to your thought question and submit here. Or to paste it onto a word document and upload it onto here as a pdf. ELL students can use: https://www.wordreference.com/es/translation.asp |

Students will need to design a travel brochure for my review that includes a description of the locations climate and weather report for the exact dates that we will be traveling there. Then students will suggest some activities that we can do during our time there. The activities should be appropriate for the weather during the time we are there. Lastly, students should include a brief description of the difference between weather and climate of their location. Students will research the locations climate and weather using weather.com. Students will be filling out a travel planning sheet before they begin to create the brochure. Their brochure should be created using the included rubric.
